5 Great reasons to buy from us:

Features

  • TOP-QUALITY ELDERBERRIES – Frontier Co-op Organic Elderberries (botanical name: Sambucus nigra) are part of the honeysuckle family. They are attractive, dark berries that are used to make jams, syrups, juices, and wine. They are often part of sweet treats, too – such as pies, crumbles, and more.
  • FLAVORFUL, VERSATILE BERRIES – Elderberries deliver flexible options for many culinary needs. They are used in sweet syrups and desserts, and they provide a pleasant, fruity aroma. This dark, purple berry also complements teas and warming winter cordials.
  • ROBUST AND TANGY – European elderberries are not the sweetest variety of berries available, but they are tart or bitter depending on the way you use them. Their flavor develops when mixed in foods or drinks.
  • ORGANICALLY SOURCED IN BULGARIA – Our Bulgarian farmers grow these berries using non-irradiated processes and harvest them at the peak of their flavor. They maintain the plant’s moisture using unique and clean cropping techniques. Frontier Co-op Elderberries are also 100% kosher certified. There are no artificial additives or chemicals used at any stage of growing and processing.
  • ABOUT US – Owned by stores and organizations that buy and sell our products, Frontier Co-op has been a member-owned cooperative since 1976. We support natural-living and our products are never irradiated or treated with ETO. We're committed to the health and welfare of the environment and everyone producing and consuming our botanical products.

  1. With cold and flu season approaching, and because I am already weak due to an autoimmune condition, I thought that I should make some Elderberry Syrup to give me an immunity boost. With a little organic ginger, cinnamon, maple syrup and brandy I made 4 bottles of syrup with a delicious, delightful taste. I will be back for more!

  2. Always my favorite for making my Flu season elderberry syrup. Glad the price has come down a bit. With the elderberry craze the price skyrocketed at one point and I ordered the last batch on Ebay. Happy to be able to order this product again.

  3. 5-stars. I purchased these organic, European elderberries for medicinal use. I make a syrup that is taken as a tonic against viral infections and to counter seasonal allergies. The results was a wonderfully dark, rich, flavour-packed syrup. For my intended use, these are the very best elderberries I have ever found.

  4. This was the first time buying the organic version of Frontier’s elderberries, and I was not disappointed. There were VERY FEW stems or unripe berries, and I always go through them with a “fine tooth comb” two separate times before using them in our infusions. The berries taste very rich and tart. I personally think they have a stinky smell to them while cooking, which I guess is why some people add spices like cinnamon and clove. They taste a lot better than they smell, that’s for sure! 🙂

  5. I love these frontier coop elderberries! They are USDA certified organic. I’ve ordered them twice and they always arrive promptly. I bought some from mountain Rose herbs last year when the frontier ones were out of stock. I noticed that the frontier brand’s berries seemed fresher and more potent. Great buy and I’m very happy.
